Start a cloud download on your phone by adding a supported link to Seedr, then wait for it to finish before watching on your TV. Choose the supported casting or player route for your devices and test sound and subtitles.

Step 1: send the link to your cloud

  • Phone: install Seedr as an app, then long-press a link, tap Share and pick Seedr. See Share to Seedr.

  • Computer: right-click any link and choose Add to Seedr with the Chrome extension or the Firefox add-on.

  • Anywhere: paste a link into the Link field. Paste a direct file link or a page link.

Step 2: let the cloud do the work

Seedr fetches the files on its own servers. You can close the page. The Tasks page shows progress when you come back.

Step 3: play it on the TV

Prefer a media server? Seedr can sit behind Plex or Jellyfin over WebDAV or FTP, so your library shows up with artwork and metadata. Start with Connect Seedr and Plex with WebDAV.

Tips

  • Stream for a quick look and save only what you want to keep offline.

  • Pick the Seedr server closest to you if playback is slow.

  • Check your plan storage before queuing many large files.

Test the full route

  1. Finish importing the video and play a short section in the browser first.

  2. Check the TV or receiver route supported by your devices. Try audio and subtitles before settling in.

  3. For AirPlay troubleshooting, check device updates and connectivity. Guest-network isolation can prevent discovery.

Frequently asked questions

Does a cloud file mean the TV can play it offline?

No. Cloud playback needs connectivity. An offline copy must be downloaded and tested on the actual playback device.

Will every subtitle format cast correctly?

Do not assume so. Test the selected subtitle and audio track on the receiver; compatibility depends on the route and device.
