Full read + write access to Seedr V2 is live

Full read + write is now live in Seedr V2
Seedr V2 now supports full read and write access across FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV on premium plans. Rename in Finder, let media server automation tools move files after import, run rsync into your NAS. One account, one library, two-way control.
Why we built this
For a long time Seedr was mostly a one-way door: stuff came in, you watched it in the browser or pulled it down. That covered the common case, but power users wanted more.
The asks were specific:
- "I run Plex. I want Seedr to be the library root, not a staging area I manually copy out of."
- "media server automation tools needs to rename episodes after import. If it cannot write back to Seedr, the whole pipeline breaks."
- "My NAS does nightly backups. I want Seedr to be one of the off-site targets."
- "I just want to drag a folder from my laptop into Seedr from Finder without opening the web UI."
All of those need one thing: a real, writeable mount. Not a partial write. Not FTP with flaky support for renames. Not WebDAV that stalls on batch operations. A real mount.
So we rebuilt the mount layer. FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV now all behave the way your apps expect.
What changed
Before:
- FTP was read-biased. Writes often failed on long operations.
- WebDAV existed but struggled with batch renames and moves.
- No SFTP endpoint at all.
Now:
- SFTP is live at sftp://sftp.seedr.cc:2222. Modern encryption, works cleanly with Plex, Jellyfin, rsync, rclone, Cyberduck, Mountain Duck, and any standards-compliant client.
- FTP has been polished. Stronger reconnect logic, higher sustained throughput, near-zero "save failed" errors on long transfers.
- WebDAV is stronger on the Master plan at https://dav.seedr.cc. Renames, moves, deletes, and uploads all behave correctly under macOS Finder and Windows Explorer.
- True two-way control. Rename, move, delete, or upload from your desktop or automation tool. No need to go back to the web UI to finish the job.
Who gets what
- Pro (200 GB): full read + write over FTP and SFTP.
- Master (1 TB): full read + write over FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV.
How to use it today
Five-minute setup.
1. Mount Seedr as a drive
Pick your OS and tool:
- Windows: RaiDrive or WinSCP.
- macOS: Mountain Duck or Cyberduck.
- Linux: rclone mount or davfs2 for WebDAV.
Use these endpoints:
- FTP: ftp://ftp.seedr.cc
- SFTP: sftp://sftp.seedr.cc port 2222
- WebDAV: https://dav.seedr.cc (Master only)
Log in with your Seedr credentials.
2. Point your media server at the mount
In Plex, Jellyfin, or Infuse, add a library whose path is the mounted Seedr folder. New saves appear in the library moments after they finish downloading into Seedr.

- Connect Seedr to Plex via FTP → /connecting-seedr-with-plex-via-FTP

3. Automate with media server automation tools and media automation
Set the download-client output path to your Seedr mount. Full read + write lets media server automation tools and media automation rename and move episodes inside Seedr directly — no glue scripts.
4. Back up a NAS to Seedr
On Synology, QNAP, or TrueNAS, add Seedr as an SFTP share. Schedule rsync nightly. Your Seedr storage becomes an off-site backup target.
Roadmap
Still in progress:
- Larger concurrent write queues on WebDAV for batch imports.
- Per-app credentials so you can rotate one tool's access without affecting the others.
- Bandwidth reporting per protocol so you know how much each integration uses.
Nothing here blocks the workflows above. These are quality-of-life items for heavy users.
