Time for Updates!

//Time for Updates!

It’s been a long time since we got you guys up-to-date, so here are the recent changes and upcoming features to enhance your Seedr experience.

REST API Release

We have released the first prototype version of our RESTful API – Check it out

With the first API prototype and upcoming tech(PHP/Python/Javascript libraries), we will enable you – the users – the easiest way anywhere to make online tools for using torrents.
The API is REST compliant with simple JSON output, shouldn’t be too hard to use – many more functions are to come.

Video Player Upgrade

The video player we use on the site has undergone a major upgrade, fixing many of it’s well-known issues.
For a full list of changes done to the player and what’s to come click here.

Moving on to HTTP/2

At Seedr, we always try to stay up-to-date with all new web technologies. As a part of that trend, we have recently upgraded our entire server stack to the HTTP/2 technology, increasing responsiveness and performance on many networks. We are currently implementing many improvements into our servers to make it smoother and faster for you – the users.

General Improvements

The Seedr system has undergone some improvements under-the-hood as well. A partial list of what you should expect:

  • Smoother/Faster adding of torrents, and less random stops
  • Better overall responsiveness of the system
  • Smoother buffering of videos
  • Faster video conversions
  • Download managers resume support

What’s More To Come?

As the system is slowly stabilising and random server issues are becoming rare, time is freeing up to evolve the system in the direction you all expect it to be.

We are currently working on the following technologies, so expect them at your doorstep;) :

  • Torrent RSS support for automatically downloading new torrents/episodes/etc’ immediately when they come out
  • Firefox Extension
  • Seedr Android Application
  • FTP Support
  • Youtube Download Support

Stay tuned and stay positive, we will be in contact soon!

I remmeber asking in early Jan of 2016 when the firefox extention was avaible ? And told with a week or two , now where in march 2016 and nothing, how about giving us some basic resumable downloading ability and ftp capablity also. I mean most of us don’t use either Kodi or xmbc which can later be added instead the other’s that I stated are more priority.

The firefox extension is actually ready.

We use the new extension framework, so it is being released with the version of firefox that supports it ( next release )

Right now it is too unstable until that time.
