Build Your Perfect Setup
Seedr isn't just a web app — it's infrastructure you can build on. REST API for programmatic control. WebDAV and FTP for file access. Native compatibility with Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, and the *arr ecosystem.
This page is about connections — how to hook Seedr into your existing tools. Looking for hands-off workflows? See Automation.
REST API
Full programmatic access to every Seedr feature. Anything you can do in the web interface, you can do via API.
What You Can Do
- Add downloads: Submit magnet links or URLs programmatically
- Check status: Monitor download progress, get completion notifications
- Manage files: List, rename, move, delete files and folders
- Get streaming URLs: Retrieve direct links for playback in external players
- Account info: Check storage usage, plan details, bandwidth
Authentication
OAuth2 authentication keeps your credentials secure. Generate API tokens from your account settings. Tokens can be scoped and revoked anytime.
Use Cases
- Custom scripts: Automate repetitive tasks with bash, Python, or any language
- iOS Shortcuts: Call the API directly from iOS Shortcuts
- Monitoring: Build dashboards to track your downloads and storage
- Bulk operations: Add multiple links, clean up old files, organize libraries
Sonarr, Radarr & *arr Integration
The *arr suite (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr) are popular tools for automating media library management. Seedr works as a download client for these applications.
How It Works
- Configure Seedr as download client: Add Seedr's API credentials in your *arr application settings
- *arr sends downloads to Seedr: When your *arr app finds content, it sends the link to Seedr automatically
- Seedr downloads to cloud: Files download to your Seedr storage using our fast servers
- Access via WebDAV/FTP: Your *arr app or media server accesses completed files via WebDAV or FTP mount
Why Use Seedr with *arr?
- No local server needed: Traditional setups require a seedbox or always-on PC. Seedr handles it in the cloud.
- Faster downloads: Our data center connections are faster than most home internet
- Access anywhere: Your downloads aren't stuck on one machine
- Works with Plex/Jellyfin: Mount Seedr storage as a library source
Supported Applications
- Sonarr: TV series management and automation
- Radarr: Movie collection management
- Lidarr: Music library automation
- Readarr: Book and audiobook management
- Prowlarr: Indexer manager that syncs across all *arr apps
