To watch a video with subtitles online, import the video into Seedr, open the subtitle controls and choose or add the subtitle track. Check language and timing before casting; a working browser subtitle does not guarantee the same result on every TV.

Choose the subtitle source

Use a subtitle file you are authorized to use, or the available subtitle-search controls in Seedr. A subtitle file has its own language, timing and encoding. Similar filenames do not prove that a subtitle matches the exact edit of the video.

Check in the player

  1. Finish importing the video and open the player.

  2. Open subtitle controls and choose or add a track.

  3. Play a dialogue section near the beginning and later in the file.

  4. Check the selected audio language, then test the TV route separately if casting.

If timing drifts

Check whether the subtitle belongs to a different release, language or cut. Do not overwrite your only subtitle file while experimenting. Test another compatible track or the player's supported timing controls when available.

Keep playback and export separate

Loading a subtitle for playback does not prove it has been embedded into an exported video. Use the linked subtitle guide for the appropriate workflow and test the actual result on the intended device.

Check the file before changing it

  • An MKV is a container, not a video codec. Check whether the picture, sound or subtitles are failing.

  • Finish importing the file before testing playback. Try a short section, seek forward, then check the desired audio and subtitle tracks.

  • Keep the original. A browser stream does not prove an exported MP4 will retain every track.

Frequently asked questions

Why are subtitles out of sync?

The track may match a different cut or release. Check dialogue near the beginning and end, then choose a matching track or supported timing adjustment.

Does loading a subtitle embed it into a saved video?

No guarantee. Playback settings and exported files are different results. Test the actual saved file if embedded subtitles are required.
