Cloud Fetching for the Modern Web
Add a link. We fetch it to our servers. View from anywhere.
Trusted by 2M+ users. No software to install.
Fetch to the Cloud, Access From Anywhere
Traditional file tools bring files to your device. You wait for the transfer. You manage the storage. You figure out how to access it from your phone or TV. And if your connection drops, you start over.
Seedr works differently. Instead of saving to your device, files land on our cloud servers at gigabit speeds. Once there, you can stream videos instantly, fetch a copy to any device, or just leave them in the cloud until you need them.
No software to install. No ports to configure. No waiting for slow connections. Add a link, and Seedr handles the rest.
How It Works
Seedr is designed around one simple workflow:
Paste a Link
Media links, direct file URLs, supported site links
We Fetch It
Our servers fetch at gigabit speeds — minutes, not hours
Access Anywhere
Stream, fetch a copy, or cast to any device
Your files stay in your Seedr account until you delete them. Access from your phone at work, your laptop at home, your tablet on the train. No syncing. No transferring files between devices. Just log in and your content is there.
Why Fetch to the Cloud?
Saving files to local storage made sense when internet was slow and cloud storage didn't exist. Today, cloud-based fetching solves problems you didn't know you had:
Your Device Storage Stays Free
A 50GB video library doesn't need to sit on your laptop's SSD. Keep it in Seedr, stream what you want, fetch only what you need offline.
Gigabit Fetch Speeds
Seedr's servers run on enterprise-grade connections. A file that takes 2 hours on your 50Mbps line? Under 2 minutes on our infrastructure.
Transfers Never Drop
Close your laptop. Let your phone sleep. Lose WiFi for an hour. The transfer continues on our servers regardless.
Access From Any Device
Log in from your phone, desktop, or even a friend's computer. Your files are always accessible. No USB drives needed.
Stream Without Saving
Most files you want to watch, you don't need to keep. Stream video directly in your browser. Save a copy only if you decide to keep it.
What Can You Fetch?
Seedr supports multiple ways to add content:
- Media LinksCopy any supported link, paste into Seedr. We handle the transfer entirely server-side. No client software. No router configuration.
- Direct File LinksURLs that point directly to files (.zip, .mp4, etc.) can be fetched by our servers. Great for large files from hosting services.
- Supported SitesMany popular hosting sites work with Seedr. Paste the page URL and our system extracts the fetch link automatically.
- Browser ExtensionOur Chrome extension adds a right-click option to send links directly to Seedr. It's fetching before you finish reading the page.
File Management
Seedr isn't just a fetch tool — it's cloud storage designed around file transfers.
Smart Archive Handling
ZIP, RAR, 7Z — archives become browsable immediately. No extraction needed. Navigate inside like a folder, stream videos directly from within, save individual files without extracting everything.
Organize Your Files
- Folders: Create folders, move files, rename things. Organize however you want.
- Search: Find files by name across your entire library.
- Bulk operations: Select multiple files for moving, deleting, or saving together.
Storage Tiers
Free accounts get 2GB to try things out. Premium plans scale up to 1TB+ of storage. Files stay until you delete them — no auto-expiration on paid plans.
Built-in Playback
Most cloud tools stop at storage. Seedr goes further with a full video player built in.
Instant Playback
Click a video, start watching. No waiting first. Streaming starts in seconds.
All Formats
MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, and more. We handle transcoding automatically.
Subtitles
External SRT/VTT files and embedded MKV subtitles. Timing adjustment if they're out of sync.
Chromecast
Cast to your TV with one tap. Full remote control from your phone.
Audio files play too. PDF viewer. EPUB reader for ebooks. Code viewer with syntax highlighting. Seedr handles most file types directly in the browser. More about streaming →

Cloud vs. Local Comparison
| Scenario | Local File Tool | Seedr Cloud Fetching |
|---|---|---|
| 10GB file, 50Mbps connection | ~27 minutes waiting | Under 2 minutes, then stream |
| Connection drops mid-transfer | Resume if supported, often restart | Transfers continue on our servers |
| Want to watch on phone later | Transfer file somehow | Already accessible, just log in |
| Device storage full | Delete things first | Stream without local copy |
| Watching on TV | HDMI cable or setup casting | One-tap Chromecast |
| Decide you don't want the file | Delete and reclaim space | Just delete, no local cleanup |
| Large archive with 1 file you need | Fetch all, extract, find file | Browse archive, fetch just that file |

Common Questions
How is Seedr faster than my local connection?
Seedr fetches files to our servers (which run on enterprise-grade connections), then you stream or save from us. The result is effectively faster access to your files, regardless of how slow your home line is.
What links work?
Any valid link or URL we support. Paste it, we fetch it. No client software needed on your end.
How fast are transfers?
Our servers run on gigabit connections. Most popular content arrives in minutes. Less common content may take longer depending on availability, but the transfer happens on our end regardless of your connection speed.
Can I use Seedr on my phone?
Yes. The web app works great on mobile browsers. Add links, manage files, stream videos — everything works. You can even add Seedr to your home screen for an app-like experience.
Is there a desktop app?
Seedr is entirely web-based — no app to install. This means it works anywhere you have a browser, always up to date, nothing to maintain on your end. For deeper integration, use FTP or WebDAV to mount Seedr as a drive.
What happens when I run out of storage?
Delete files you don't need anymore, or upgrade your plan for more space. We won't auto-delete your files — you control what stays and what goes.
Can I access my files from multiple devices?
Yes. Log in from any device — phone, laptop, tablet, TV — and your files are there. Stream video, fetch files, or browse your library from anywhere. No syncing required.
Why should I pay when free works?
Free is great for trying Seedr. But 2GB fills up fast. Premium gives you more storage, faster processing, higher quality streaming, FTP/WebDAV access, and instant v2 access. If you use Seedr regularly, Premium removes the friction.
What's the difference between v1 and v2?
v2 is our next-generation platform — faster, more features, better streaming (up to 4K). Premium members access both. Free users can request v2 access but may wait. If you're on the fence about Premium, instant v2 access is a strong reason to upgrade.
Is my content private?
Your account is yours. We don't browse your files. Your content stays private by default. Standard privacy policy applies.
