Mounting cloud storage as a network drive lets desktop applications access files through a filesystem path. With Seedr, choose a protocol included in your plan and follow the mounting guide. A network drive still transfers data and may cache files locally.

## What a mount changes

A network mount exposes cloud files through a filesystem path that desktop applications can open. It can reduce manual download-and-upload steps, but the application and mounting client still transfer data. Some keep a local cache, and some editing workflows need local staging space.

## Set up a small test

1. Check which protocol your Seedr plan includes.
2. Use the endpoint and credentials displayed in your own account.
3. Follow the mounting guide for your operating system and client.
4. Open one small file, test the operation you need and check the result.
5. Test reconnection after a restart before relying on the mount for work.

## Choose the right workflow

A browser viewer may be simpler on a phone or for occasional access. A mount can fit desktop applications and media libraries. Large video editing may work better with a deliberate local copy. Do not assume every app safely edits every remote file in place.

## Media servers remain separate

Plex and Jellyfin need a running server whose process can read the mounted path. A mount created on another device does not make the files readable by that server. Check permissions and test a small library before scanning a collection.

## Choose copy or mount deliberately

- Use the endpoint and credentials shown in your own Seedr account; do not copy an example password.
- Confirm your plan includes the protocol. FTP, SFTP and WebDAV are different connections.
- A mount still transfers data and may cache locally. Test a small file, permissions and reconnection before adding a library.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does a network mount remove the need for internet?

No. Reading uncached cloud data requires a connection. Some clients also keep local cache files.

### Does Seedr run my media server?

No. Plex and Jellyfin still need their own running server. Seedr can supply files to a compatible mounted or copied library.
